Installing NOW Privacy

Overview

The steps to install the NOW Privacy Virtual Appliance are:

  1. Download the OVA file

  2. Make sure your hypervisor is running

  3. Create a virtual machine from the OVA

  4. Start the NOW Privacy Virtual Appliance

  5. Make a note of the URL shown when the virtual appliance starts

  6. Jump to Running NOW Vertical

This guide gives step-by-step instructions for VirtualBox and VMware.

VirtualBox

To install on VirtualBox:

  1. Download the OVA file

  2. Make sure VirtualBox is running

  3. From the File menu, select Import Appliance

    This step creates a virtual machine from the OVA.

  4. Choose Exonar-3.2.10.2.ova in the Appliance to import dropdown box and click Open

  5. Click Import

  6. Select the virtual machine and click Start

  7. Make a note of the URL shown when the virtual appliance starts

    In this example it is http://10.0.0.173/

VMware

To install on VMware:

  1. Download the OVA file

  2. Make sure VMware (for example, VMWare ESXi or VMWare Workstation) is running

  3. Create a virtual machine from the OVA

    For example, in VMWare Workstation select File ⇾ Open

  4. Choose Exonar-3.2.10.2.ova and click Import

  5. Right-click the virtual machine and select Power On

  6. Make a note of the URL shown when the virtual appliance starts

    In this example it is: http://10.0.0.173/
