Loading data sources from file

You can create a data source manually using our wizard. Alternatively, you can define one or more data sources in a text file and load those definitions.

Downloading a sample file

To see a sample data source definition file:

  1. From the main menu select Data Sources

  2. Click NewAdd Multiple Data Sources…

  3. Click Download Example file to see a commented example

Create your definition file manually, for example in a text editor.

Loading data source definitions

To load one or more data sources from file:

  1. From the main menu select Data Sources

  2. Click NewAdd Multiple Data Sources…

  3. Click Download Example file to see a commented example

  4. Click Select File

  5. Choose the file that contains the definition you want to load and click Open

  6. In the Upload Multiple Data Sources dialog, click Add Data Sources


Data source definition file format

Save your data source definitions in a .txt file.

Each line contains one definition.

Here’s an example containing a File Share data source and Exchange data source:

smb2, Domain, User Name, Password, Server, Share, Path, MyDataSet, GB, Default, 0.2, true, false
exchange, Exchange User, Exchange Password, Directory User, Directory Password, https, Exchange Server, Directory Server, Mailbox, MyDataSet, GB, Default, 0.2, true, false
